It’s Hannukah time at my house and that means one thing: More stuff comes in and now more stuff needs to go out.
The holidays can be the perfect time to get rid of stuff you no longer need and to rethink the spaces you use.
Read my story about an IKEA playroom makeover that happened in November at the Cedar Park home of the Wilkinsons. They have seven children including 8-year-old quintuplets and their playroom was a mess of toys that no one put away.
You can also use tips from my closets, pantry and garage organization stories as well as kids bedrooms and general organization stories to help you.
Before you start the organization, get rid of your old stuff. Think about donating to places like Goodwill, Salvation Army resale stores and Savers.
If you want to do even more good, a local Girl Scout troop is doing a collection drive through Savers, which benefits Easter Seals. It will also help the girls take an educational trip to England and Ireland next year.
Bring gently used clothing and household items to Westoak Woods Baptist Church, 2900 W. Slaughter Lane., noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. Your donations will be tax-deductible.
